Blessed Tantalize Cynthia Leitich Smith Books

Picking up where Tantalize leaves off, Blessed wraps up the series nicely. I liked how Cynthia brought Zachary and a few characters from Eternal and introduced them into the plot, while keeping the same characters from Tantalize. I liked the twist that's thrown into this book with the original Dracula, and the way in which Quincie learns to accept her blessed status in order to save herself and those around her.

What I missed the most with this story was Kieren's absence for much of the book, which I feel resulted in a lack in the connection that Quincie and Kieren once had. For me I felt that Quincie had moved on. I understand she has a restaurant to run, but other than mentioning once or twice she missed Kieren I felt like she had accepted his absence, and wasn't broken up it. When the two are finally reunited and finally admit their feelings for each other, something I've been waiting for since Tantalize, it didn't seem real to me. Believe me I have been waiting for this moment. I get that Quincie realizes it was Kieren's choice to leave and she understood why, but for someone to have really been in love, there needed to be a little more seeing how broken up she was over his absence for me to really feel that they still have a strong connection.

I really liked Zachary's role in Blessed and the friendship that he forms with Quincie. I really liked getting to know him in Eternal, and I felt Cynthia did a great job with his character here. I felt that with Zachary's help Quincie grows a lot more as a character. She grows into her own and empowers herself when she finally really accepts what she is and will do anything to save those she loves from Brad.

Blessed is a fitting end to the Tantalize series. I think fans of this series will like how Cynthia throws in some darker twists, continues with the action and stays true to her characters. If you're looking forward to seeing what happens with Quincie, Kieren and Zacharcy, I'd recommend picking up Blessed.

**I'm updating my review as Cynthia let me know that there will be a 4th book with Quincie, though she'll be more of a secondary character.

Blessed Tantalize Cynthia Leitich Smith Books Reviews

Did get the right book, but got excellent customer service.
Loved this story for years! Will forever enjoy, eternally. Now on to book 4!!
10/10 stars would GLADLY read again!
Loved this book
I give this book five glorious stars.

I am very picky about the books I read,if the way they are worded, from the characters to the story plot doesn't catch my attention,or spark me in any way the book goes back on the shelf immediately, but the Novel had me spell bound the moment I picked it up.

I loved the story plot,I loved the characters, and especially Quince who proved that even girls can kick some butt, but still dress up for parties, and be romantically involved, even if the guy she loves turns wolf-e on full moon,LOL.

I would highly recommend this book to friends, family and supernatural story fanatics like me.
Cynthia Leitich Smith returns to her Dark Universe Series with Blessed the third and possibly last installment. Blessed brings us full circle and we are reunited with the original heroine and characters from Tantalize. Fans of Alex Flinn and her modern retellings of classic fairy tales like Beastly will enjoy Smith's contemporary take of Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Quincie, Our favorite teenage vampire restaurateur is learning to balance her new secret undead lifestyle with her old pre-death life. We pick up right after the end of Tantalize, Kieren is off to live with the pack, her uncle, guardian, and last living relative has met his true death. Her vampire sire Bradley Sanguini is gone leaving holes in her staff, and the weight of his world dominating plans on her shoulders. Quincie has some challenges ahead while she works to reopen Sanguini's, combat the potential fallout from the baby squirrel eaters, and maintaining her new dietary needs from Kieren's family. Fortunately Quincie has an angel on her side. Eternal's Zachary and a few of his cohorts join the fray and the wait staff to give Quincie the edge she's gonna need to overcome Brad's latest evil plans and Dracula Prime. It's the ultimate battle of good vs evil and the powers that be have Quincie playing an important role. What's left of her soul is at stake, and the redemption of Brad's victims.

Blessed is a highly entertaining book. Like Tantalize Blessed is outlined using the concept of a menu, which I found to be a quirky and a fresh take on creating a framework for the story. I like the merging of the two previous books and characters and how they combined to remake a classic. But the lull in release dates, prompts me to recommend rereading the Tantalize and Eternal before Blessed. I while I remembered Tantalized and recalled more as the book went on, I had a really hard time recalling Eternal. The two years in between really took their toll. Overall I think this book was great fans of the first two won't be disappointed. Though I think the story arc has come to an end, like the short provided at the end of Blessed, I hope Smith continues to write in her Dark Universe.
"Blessed" is a great wrap up to the stories that were started in "Tantalize" & "Eternal." In "Blessed," Quincie Morris is learning to deal with her life as a new vampire, & Zachary (the angel from "Eternal") is assigned to save her soul. This pairing is the first attempt at saving a vampire's soul, so there is a lot on the line for both Quincie & Zachary.

Brad, Quincie's sire, leaves at the beginning of the book, but he soon begins to haunt Quincie in her dreams. She also learns that Brad may have infected some of Austin's residents with vampirism, & Quincie realizes she must stop them from making a full transition into members of the undead. With the help of Zachary, her werepossum friend Clyde, & his girlfriend Aimee (also potentially infected), Quincie sets out for a showdown with Brad.

"Blessed" is better than both "Tantalize" & "Eternal," & I love the references to Bram Stoker's "Dracula."
