Worth Any Price Bow Street Book 3 Lisa Kleypas 9780380811076 Books
I think this book is probably the starting point for my deep and abiding love for Lisa Kleypas. The others before it are also really good, but this is the one that grabbed me and wouldn't let go. Whichever you choose, though, you can't go wrong. Both the story and characters are depicted so clearly. Her characters are wonderfully flawed, and the dialogue is always clever and on point. Best of all, the sex scenes are steamy and real, unlike so many romance authors who only manage to barely touch on the subject in a way that makes you wonder if they have any frame of reference whatsoever. In every respect, I feel like I leave the story with some newfound tidbit that I didn't know I couldn't live without. Start with this one, and then keep reading.

Worth Any Price Bow Street Book 3 Lisa Kleypas 9780380811076 Books Reviews
I gave this book a four star rating because it lacked a complete epilogue however I would recommend this book to all romantic readers because it had most of the elements of a good read.
Worth Any Price is one of my All Time Favorite HR. Nick Gentry/Lord Sydney is a Bow Street Runner. His assignment is to find and retrieve Charlotte/Lottie Howard. Lottie has run away from boarding school 2 years prior at age 18 to escaped marriage to the very old and cruel Earl Radnor. Nick finds Charlotte/Lottie at Stony Cross Park working as the Lady Companion to the Dowager Duchess of Westclif.
Nick has an immediate attraction to the young and innocent Lottie and they strike up a friendship which leads to romance and eventual marriage. Nick decide to marry Lottie so Lord Ragnor loses his claim on the girl. I loved the way Charlotte/Lottie is written. She is a strong beautiful 20 year old who has lived on her own and developed a life of her own, during a time in history that this is almost impossible for a female to do. Nick is one handsome sexy hunk of a man, who at since age 9 was separated from his title as Viscount and family, by unfortunate circumstance. Nick becomes a part of the Underground and eventually turns his life around with the help of his brother in law Sir Ross and his sister Sophia.
The romance between Nick and Lottie is hot sexy and very believable. They grow to love and depend on each other. There is some very slight violence at the end of the book. Nothing off putting. I loved this story. It is my 3rd re read and my first review of this book. I think Lisa Kleypas is one of the best and brightness Historical Romance authors we have. She has been around for over 20years and I have read all of her HR books very few have disappointed me if any!! I Highly Recommend The Bow Street Runner series but if you choose to read bk 3 Worth Any Price First thats OK too. It is a Stand Alone story, but I recommend starting from bk 1.
I have read a few other books by Lisa Kleypas, but this one is her best by far. Bow Street runner Nick Gentry is hired to find Charlotte ("Lottie")Howard, the runaway fiance of the dissolute Lord Radnor. Lottie has been the object of Radnor's obsessive and perverse fantasies for more than 12 years, and she had left Radnor at the altar rather than become a sacrificial lamb to redeem her father's debts. Gentry tracks Lottie down to the country home of Lord Westcliff, where she has been working for the past two years under a false name as the companion to Lord Westcliff's elderly mother. Posing as Lord John Sydney, Gentry contrives to meet Lottie and is immediately struck by her courage, her honesty, and her unconscious sensuality. Soon, he abandons his original mission and decides that he must have Lottie for himself. To his own surprise, he proposes marriage to her and she accepts, creating an enemy in Lord Radnor in the process. Gentry is a man of considerable skill in bed, having been tutored by the madam of an exclusive brothel for a number of years, and he is easily able to seduce Lottie. But he soon comes to realize that he wants more from her than her considerable physical attractions. To win Lottie's love, he must conquer his nightmare of a past and exchange his own heart and soul for hers. This is a well-written, fast-paced book with sparkling and realistic dialogue. Nick is every woman's dream of a perfect lover handsome, thoughtful, passionate, faithful, intelligent, funny, unselfish, and a man with slow hands, to boot. Lottie is his perfect match in every way, and when these two get together, the pages catch on fire! Great story, great read, great book.
I love regency romances, and recently began reading this author's books again. And this was a good one! The heroine was very likable - pretty, smart, strong, mature, and poised. The hero was a little bit harder to warm up to but ultimately compelling. They had good chemistry. I like this author's writing style. I look forward to the next one!
The character of Nick Gentry is one of the most fascinating depictions that I've ever read. He is positively dreamy!
I wish I could say the same about Lottie. At the begining, she is so spirited and filled with a quest for life. Yet, within 24 HOURS of meeting Nick, she has surrendered her fare willingly to Nick. Although Nick is devilishly cheeky and sexy, it begs any devoted reader to cry with frustration over the loss of Lottie. I'm so tired of this troupe! It ruins what could have been a 5 star book.
I’ve hated quite a few of this author’s heroines, however, this book is excellent. Charlotte is about to be sold into marriage by hateful, weak parents to a freak show who has been grooming her since she was 8 years old. Naturally, she runs away and manages to hide for 2 years as a Dowager’s companion in the country. However, the Bow Street Runner hired to find her realizes he can’t return her to such a monster. Nick marries her within days and proceeds to initiate her into an amazing array of sexual bliss.
Nick, of course, has his own demons. But finally, FINALLY, this woman does NOT pester, wheedle, demand, or make stupid decisions that endanger her life. When faced with a crisis, she takes a footman.
I could have cried with happiness at how thoroughly logical and likable Charlotte was. Compared to the Ravenal series- which make me want to throw my kindle- this novel was fantastic.
